Figure out the width of the spring steel you will cut from the paper binder, use a wood chisel and chisel a spot for the new cut spring to lay. The bore was cruddy but it cleaned up with some elbow grease.This isn't a CVA Hawken. This one is a very good copy, actually put a T/C to shame.
